We also require the site be free of encumbrances like utility lines and tree branches. We prefer to complete a site consultation before delivery to prepare for any potiential issues.
Yes. We are required by law to collect PST and GST on the sale of shipping containers in B.C.
If you're not paying sales tax, you're probably not buying from a reputable, legitimate company. All companies in B.C. are required to collect PST for goods sold whether new or used. GST is dependent on company registration and sales volume.
The taxes collected will be clearly stated on all quotes and invoices at the following rates:
The the answer for Used containers is no because the containers are taken off the "top of stack" at the terminal. Because the shipments come in quickly, the inventory is constantly changing. The transport truck is loaded according to the next available unit from the top. We cannot control the colour on used containers but we can control the grade of the container we offer. We only offer Cargo Worthy grade used containers which must meet specific shipping standards to be put into service on the ships, we do not offer Wind & Water Tight (WWT) containers, which doesn't meet cargo shipping standards. We recommend as an option, to pressure wash and paint your used container after delivery, if you're wanting a specific colour.
For New-1trip containers we can provide the common colours of Light Beige, Light Grey, Dark Grey, and Cobalt Blue. Other colours can possibly be sourced but not guaranteed, feel free to contact us to discuss your options.
If you have the proper equipment to safely transport a shipping container, according to current DOT regulations, yes, it is possible. If you choose this option, we will provide a release number and pick-up location information after the confirmed purchase.
You can then go to the terminal depot with the release document and have the container loaded onto your truck. You must then provide the container number to us so that we can comply with reporting procedures.
Please Note: You are required to comply with all instructions/protocols at the terminal depot and Kare Kraft Containers Inc. will not be liable for any issues during transport. Purchaser assumes all responsibilty and liability for any and all transport issues. If you don’t have a truck capable of safely hauling a container, we can help you with delivery.
The answer is sometimes, if the container is stored as part of our inventory. This means the container has been removed from the shipping intermodal terminal depot to our private storage where we are able to meet our customers for viewing.
Because the containers are stacked at the intermodal depot, we cannot obtain photos or guarantee a specific unit for used containers, as the units are moving and changing daily.
It is possible though to send pictures of the new-1trip containers as we do often receive photos from the manufacturers and freight forwarders/shipping lines before arriving from China to Vancouver for the first trip.
The depots store empty shipping containers for shipping lines and intermodal equipment providers. These terminals are very busy and have specific protocols and are not open to the public unless you have specific business to conduct at the terminal. This is for safety and security purposes.
When you buy from us, Kare Kraft Containers, you’re buying a shipping container at wholesale, pulled directly from cargo circulation. We help you navigate the process of purchasing a new, specialty or used shipping container directly from the shipping container pool.
We also limit our storage costs as much as possible to keep the costs down by negotiating purchase contracts for only the orders received. Sometimes we can see the supply will trend downward, which will cause a market price increase, this is when we will buy inventory to keep on hand to ensure we always have containers to offer at the lowest possible prices.
New-1trip containers sometimes have a paint or chemical smell because they’re new much like that "new car smell". This is because the doors have been sealed for most of it's new life.
The solution is easy: we recommend leaving the doors open for a few days to let it air out.
Not at this time. We recommend working with a local contractor. Contact us if you need help.
Not at this time. We hope to expand into this service in the future. Contact us if you need recommendations for other companies that provide this service.
